ArtsQuest and Sync Recovery Community have partnered to launch Cinema in Sync: Film, Fellowship and Connection at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas in Bethlehem. The new free film series features stories focused on hope, resilience, and personal transformation.
The series begins on Monday, Sept. 14, at the ArtsQuest Center. Each monthly screening explores themes surrounding recovery to encourage community conversation, challenge social stigma, and highlight individual and family experiences.
Following each featured film, attendees can participate in an optional talk-back session led by guest panelists. The post-screening discussions offer a supportive environment for audience members to ask questions, share personal thoughts, or connect with community members.
The inaugural schedule includes screenings of The Anonymous People on Sept. 14, Generation Found on Oct. 19, and Tipping the Pain Scale on Nov. 16. The specific theater hosting the film series will be maintained as a dedicated alcohol-free space during the events.
While the individual screening auditorium remains alcohol-free, alcoholic beverages may still be available for purchase in other areas of the ArtsQuest Campus at SteelStacks and the ArtsQuest Center. The project expands on the organizations’ previous collaboration during Musikfest.
