Cedar Crest College has welcomed the largest fall entering cohort in the institution’s 159-year history. Overall enrollment at the Allentown institution has increased by more than seven percent in the last year and nearly 20 percent since launching its strategic growth plan in 2023.

The fall class also represents the largest first-year undergraduate class at the college in 20 years. The influx of new students reflects growing regional and international interest in the school amid a competitive educational landscape in Pennsylvania.

The newly enrolled students arrive from 17 states, including California, Minnesota, and Texas, as well as 10 international countries. Top academic fields of study among the incoming group include nursing, forensic science, psychology, and biology.

Incoming students were formally introduced to campus during the college’s traditional Open Door Ceremony. Student Government Association President Keishla Garcia addressed the incoming cohort during the event, emphasizing campus community and student involvement for both residential and commuter students.

College President Elizabeth Meade also spoke at the tradition to officially welcome the new class to the campus community. The enrollment milestone marks a key point in the implementation of the college’s multi-year strategic growth strategy.
