Eight local artists will paint fire hydrants across Downtown Easton on Friday, September 25, as part of the second round of the Paint-a-Hydrant program. Conceived by the Easton Main Street Design Committee, the initiative places themed designs on hydrants at eight specific locations throughout the area.
The scheduled painting coincides with Easton Fourth Friday, a recurring program organized by the Greater Easton Development Partnership. Visitors and residents moving between Fourth Friday activities can watch the artists work in real time and speak with them about their designs.
The program originally launched in the summer of 2025 and returned for a second year following positive community response. After the Easton Main Street Initiative issued a call for artists on social media, participants submitted concepts featuring gnomes, leopards, flowers, and serpents.
The Design Committee handled logistics for the project, including application reviews, cleaning and priming the hydrants, and supplying custom paint kits to the participants. The completed hydrants will remain as permanent public art installations across the downtown area.
The featured artists and their designated hydrant locations include Liv Bamford and Trevor Pinho at Church Street and 6th Street, Joey Riley at North 3rd Street and Bushkill Street, and Danny Finnochio at 453 Northampton Street. Additional sites include Gabriel Kopp and Amelia Wagner at North 3rd Street and College Avenue, Terry Newhard at South 3rd Street and Larry Holmes Drive, Emily Novak at Scott Park, and Destiny Smith, Ebony Smith, and Lexi Clark at 219 North 3rd Street.
The hydrant painting occurs alongside other scheduled Fourth Friday activities in the district. Live music is set for the Easton Public Market plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., while the Easton Small Business Cash Mob begins at 6:00 p.m. to encourage support for local shops.
