Easton Farmers Market to open 274th season on May 2

The Easton Farmers Market, recognized as the oldest continuously running open-air farmers market in the United States, will launch its 274th season on Saturday, May 2. The market will operate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Scott Park.

Opening day festivities include a food influencer panel from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. featuring Heidi Stahl of Lehigh Valley Food for Thought, Sam Lewis of Brunch with Sam, and Alex Seraphina. Live music will be provided by The Hazmats on the Scott Park stage and the aGirl & aGuy Duo at the West End Acoustic tent.

“Each year, Opening Day reminds us why the Easton Farmers Market remains such a cornerstone of our community,” said Emily Roland of the Greater Easton Development Partnership. “For generations, families have gathered here to connect with local farmers, support small businesses, and celebrate the spirit of our city.”

Mayor Sal Panto and Robert Freeman are also expected to provide remarks during the season opener.

The 2026 season introduces several new features, including a “Creative Canopy” art tent for hands-on programming and a “Taste It Tent” for culinary sampling. The market will also host a special Heritage Day Market in Centre Square to celebrate the city’s history.

The scheduled themed market days for the season include:

  • May 30: Strawberry Day
  • June 27: Pollinator Day
  • July 11: 274th Birthday Celebration
  • Aug. 1: Peach Day
  • Aug. 15: Tomato Day
  • Sept. 5: Funky Ferments Fest
  • Sept. 26: Hot Pepper Showdown
  • Oct. 17: Apple Jam
  • Oct. 31: Pumpkins & Pooches

The market will extend into December with holiday-themed dates on Dec. 5, 12, and 19. Winter hours will shift to 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
