Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks and Miller-Keystone Blood Center will host the second annual Rock and Roll Up Your Sleeve blood drive on Thursday, August 27, in Bethlehem. The event coincides with a free Craig Thatcher Band concert held as part of the Levitt Summer Concert Series presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network, part of Jefferson Health.

Beginning at 3 p.m. before the 7:30 p.m. show, attendees can donate blood aboard Miller-Keystone’s mobile donation bus. The collection effort aims to help replenish local blood supplies during a time of year when donations typically decline due to summer vacations and school breaks.

Miller-Keystone Blood Center collects from only about 3% to 5% of eligible donors and requires roughly 350 donations daily to meet local hospital demands across the region. Local organizers noted that several donation storage refrigerators at the Bethlehem facility are currently empty.

The evening’s performance features the Craig Thatcher Band delivering a tribute to Eric Clapton. Composed of local musicians, the group presents material spanning Clapton’s career from his early work with the Yardbirds through his present-day releases.

Donors who give blood aboard the mobile unit between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on August 27 will receive a limited-edition event shirt. Individuals who cannot attend the concert can obtain the shirt by donating at Miller-Keystone Blood Center locations in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, or Hamilton and mentioning Group Code E360.
