The One Earth Reggae Festival will return to the ArtsQuest Campus at SteelStacks on July 11, featuring Grammy-nominated artist Jesse Royal as the headliner for the event’s fifth anniversary.

The free, daylong festival is presented in partnership with Movement Moves Media and features performances across three stages from noon until 1:30 a.m. The lineup includes a mix of international, national, and regional acts aimed at celebrating reggae culture and community unity.

Jesse Royal, a Kingston, Jamaica-based singer-songwriter, is a leading figure in the modern roots reggae revival. Known for his 2021 Grammy-nominated album “Royal,” his work blends traditional reggae rhythms with contemporary hip-hop and soul influences.

“Bringing cultures together while uplifting the community is what this festival does best,” said Patrick Brogan, ArtsQuest chief programming officer.

Other national acts scheduled for the July 11 event include the Phoenix-based reggae-rock group Fayuca and the New York-based Jamaican pop ensemble The Big Takeover.

The festival begins at noon with a screening of the 1972 classic film “The Harder They Come,” starring Jimmy Cliff, at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas. Simultaneously, the event will host an all-levels yoga session on the Levitt Pavilion lawn led by Sophie Hami.

This year’s festival poster was designed by Adam Viola of the duo Space Kamp, who is also scheduled to perform. Viola cited the bold, vibrant style of artist Keith Haring as the primary inspiration for the design.

In addition to live music, the ArtsQuest campus will host various food and craft vendors throughout the day. The festival remains a non-ticketed event open to the public.

A complete performance schedule and list of participating vendors are available on the ArtsQuest website.
