The Easton Farmers’ Market will host its annual Hot Pepper Showdown on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Scott Park. The competition is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. as participants test their spicy food tolerance against a series of increasingly hot peppers.

A field capped at 15 contestants will eat through a lineup of locally grown peppers designed to increase in heat with each round. The peppers featured in the contest are grown locally and supplied by the Greater Easton Development Partnership’s Easton Garden Works program.

Alongside the main eating competition, the event will feature audience pepper trivia, prize giveaways, and music for spectators. The contest offers a public spectacle highlighting local produce grown in the area.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for those looking to compete, as participant spots remain limited to 15 people. Registration can be completed online through the Easton Farmers’ Market website.

The Hot Pepper Showdown is free for spectators to attend and takes place during regular market hours. The broader Easton Farmers’ Market features a variety of regional farmers, food vendors, and artisan producers setup in downtown Easton.
