The West Ward Market will host an evening event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Day on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The free public gathering takes place at the 10th & Pine Community Garden, located at 923 Pine St. in Easton.

Designed to honor the cultural contributions of local Hispanic residents, the schedule begins with a community cooking class from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Live music from Herencia Jibara will follow from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m., Easton resident and Spring Garden Elementary teacher Veronica Reyes will lead a free salsa and merengue dance class. Additional programming includes presentations on Latinx initiatives from the Easton Area Community Center and children’s activities hosted by the YMCA.

On-site food and produce vendors will offer discounted items throughout the evening. Amigos Mexican Grille will sell $3 tacos, while Easton Garden Works will feature three-for-$1 hot peppers alongside select produce items priced at $1 per pound.
