Penn’s Peak has announced that legendary blues-rock guitarist Robin Trower will perform at the venue on Friday, September 25, at 8 p.m.

The performance comes as Trower reaches his eighth decade, continuing a career that began in 1960s London with Procol Harum before he transitioned to a prolific solo career. Known for his signature sound utilizing a Fender Stratocaster and Marshall amplifier, Trower remains a vital figure in rock music with a solo catalog approaching 30 releases.

“Some people say I’m driven, but I think it’s just the love of doing it,” Trower reflected. “I play guitar every day and just through messing around, ideas happen.”

The tour follows the release of his latest acclaimed album, Come And Find Me. Trower noted that the record draws on his “first love” of 1950s rock ‘n’ roll, influenced by early memories of hearing Scotty Moore and B.B. King. The album features his trusted studio band, including drummer Chris Taggart and vocalist Richard Watts.

Trower’s career highlights include his work on the hit “A Whiter Shade of Pale” and his 1974 solo masterpiece Bridge Of Sighs, which achieved gold status in the United States. Despite his legacy, Trower remains focused on new creation rather than past success.

“In one way, I can’t believe it, that I’m still going at 80,” Trower said. “It’s kind of scary. You know that you’re way down the road… but I still love doing this. For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than working on a new song.”

Tickets for the Jim Thorpe performance are currently on sale. General admission tickets are priced at $35 in advance and $40 on the day of the show.
