Penn’s Peak has announced that “The Mavericks & Friends” will perform at the venue on Friday, August 28, at 8 p.m.
The tour serves as a celebration of the band’s three-decade, Grammy-winning legacy and a tribute to late frontman Raul Malo, who died in 2025 following a battle with cancer. Malo was known for a voice that defined hits such as “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down” and “Back In Your Arms Again.”
The touring lineup features Paul Deakin, Robert Reynolds, Eddie Perez, and Jerry Dale McFadden. This iteration of the group combines past and present members with a rotating cast of guest vocalists. According to the announcement, the tour aims to showcase the band’s catalog while saluting Malo’s “once-in-a-generation impact” and beginning a new chapter for the ensemble.
The performance follows a tradition of celebration started by the bandmates during a sold-out show at the Ryman Auditorium, which honored Malo’s influence during his final hours.
Tickets for the Jim Thorpe performance went on sale Friday, May 8. Reserved seating is available at three price levels: $40 for super premium, $33.50 for premium, and $30.50 for regular seating.
