Mark Farner’s American Band and Molly Hatchet to perform at Penn’s Peak in October

Mark Farner and Molly Hatcher to perform at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania in October 2026

Penn’s Peak has announced a new co-headlining classic rock concert featuring Mark Farner’s American Band and Molly Hatchet. The performance is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. The event brings together two classic music acts that rose to prominence during the late 1960s and 1970s.

Mark Farner enters the lineup as the former lead vocalist, guitarist, and founding member of Grand Funk Railroad, a group that first broke through at the 1969 Atlanta Pop Festival. Farner has earned 30 platinum record certifications over his five-decade career. His performance setlist draws from a catalog of classic rock radio staples, including I’m Your Captain (Closer to Home), We’re an American Band, Heartbreaker, Bad Time, The Loco-Motion, and Some Kind of Wonderful.

The concert lineup features Southern rock band Molly Hatchet, a group originally formed in Jacksonville, Florida. The band established its signature sound by blending rock, blues, country, and gospel influences on its 1978 self-titled debut album and the follow-up multi-platinum record Flirtin’ with Disaster. Despite multiple lineup changes over four decades of global touring, the group continues to perform its legacy catalog.

Molly Hatchet’s portion of the performance will feature signature genre tracks such as Gator Country, Whiskey Man, Dreams I’ll Never See, Fall of the Peacemakers, and Flirtin’ with Disaster. The appearance alongside Farner marks a continuation of the band’s regular touring schedule.
