ArtsQuest announces first Air Products MakerSpace workshops

ArtsQuest has announced its initial schedule of hands-on workshops and classes for the upcoming Air Products MakerSpace. The brand-new studio concept is located inside the ArtsQuest Creative Factory powered by PPL in Bethlehem.

The newly constructed facility is designed to provide artists, students, and beginners with direct access to digital and analog fabrication tools. Participants can access industrial machinery, including a Step Craft computer numerical control machine, a ultraviolet printer, a multiprocess welder, and various woodworking saws and jointers.

Instructor Joe Capparell will lead the initial round of educational programming beginning on November 5, 2026. The technical curriculum features multi-date introductory sessions, specialized material labs, and practical building projects scheduled through March 2027.

The class schedule features a recurring introduction to woodworking course alongside specific project-based sessions for building cutting boards and resin charcuterie boards. Additional specialized workshops include instructions for constructing a bandsaw box, an advanced edge grain chop block, a resin table, and an introduction to metalworking.

Future programming at the facility will expand to incorporate supervised independent open studio hours, youth programs, and festival-linked community fabrication labs.
