Visual artist Michael Palladino will present his mixed media artwork series titled Ashland at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery. The upcoming exhibition is scheduled to open on July 1 and will run through August 10, 2026. The gallery, located at 10 E. Church Street in Bethlehem, is open to the public on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and remains closed on weekends and holidays.
An artist reception will take place on Sunday, July 12 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., featuring a scheduled artist talk at 3:00 p.m. Palladino is an international visual artist originally from the East Village in New York City who now maintains a studio and residence along the Delaware River in the Lehigh Valley. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art and Design from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
The featured Ashland series utilizes a mixed media pairing that contrasts photographic aerial views of desert landscapes with monochromatic, carved wooden counterparts. The color photographs display geometric patterns and human interventions within natural terrain. In contrast, the charcoal-toned wooden panels trace those same forms through textured, charred surfaces to highlight themes of environmental degradation and cultivated land.
Palladino specializes in nature-themed carved wooden reliefs that frequently focus on environmental concerns. The artist has exhibited his work regularly throughout the local region since relocating his creative practice to Pennsylvania. This specific summer gallery presentation is sponsored by both the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
