Gabriel Ricker, Program Manager at Renzo Gracie Easton (326 Church St, Easton, PA 18042), has been named the Downtown Easton Employee of the Month for March 2026, the Easton Main Street Initiative announced.
Now in its second month, the program highlights individuals whose work and community engagement make downtown Easton a welcoming and vibrant destination. Ricker, a lifelong Easton resident, has played a key role at Renzo Gracie Easton, creating a space where students of all ages can learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and find a sense of community.
“Downtown Easton’s strength comes from people like Gabriel, individuals who pour themselves into their work and their community without seeking recognition,” said Julie VanOsdol, Main Street Manager. “He’s built something real at Renzo Gracie Easton, and the impact he’s had on the people who walk through those doors is exactly what this program was created to celebrate.”
Ricker was nominated by members of the Renzo Gracie Easton community, who praised his patience with beginners, ability to make complex concepts accessible, and genuine investment in students and colleagues.
“Gabriel is someone who cares deeply about what he does, and that works well for a discipline like Jiu Jitsu … especially when teaching children,” said Thomas, one of his nominators. Another supporter noted, “While not ‘the professor’ of the academy, Gabriel’s work is essential to its success. He keeps operations running smoothly behind the scenes, often without recognition.”
Outside the gym, Ricker is a familiar presence at local events, representing Renzo Gracie Easton at gatherings such as the PA Bacon Fest and Easton Garlic Fest, further connecting the academy with the city.
The Downtown Easton Employee of the Month program honors one outstanding employee each month who demonstrates exceptional service, community involvement and dedication to making downtown Easton a special place. Last month, Lauren Givnin of 3rd & Ferry Fish Market was recognized as the program’s inaugural recipient.
